River Conditions

Mokelumne River Conditions Report

The tributaries seem to be fishing well.  That is a good thing because the flows in the North Fork of the Mokelumne entering Tiger Creek Afterbay are close to 2,000 CFS!  Both Salt Springs Reservoir and Lower Bear River Reservoir are predicted to spill this year, so flows have been increased to lessen the amount of uncontrolled spill that occurs, and also to delay the start of the spill.  The flows leaving Salt Springs were increased to 1430 CFS at the M-11 gaging station on 5/12.  Lower Bear's instream flow release @ M-49 was increased to 138 CFS on 5/12 as well.  These are just two of the sources of water that enter Tiger Creek Afterbay.  The other 29 or so tributaries are making up the other ~350 CFS.

Flows leaving Tiger Creek Afterbay are close to 2,200 CFS at the M-59 gaging station.  Some of the water is diverted into Lake Tabeaud, but there is still close to 1,800 CFS going downstream towards the Electra Beat.  Be very careful if you are fishing in this stretch due to the high flows.

Stanislaus River Conditions Report

The flows in the South Fork of the Stanislaus below Pinecrest are close to 700 CFS.  Main Strawberry Reservoir is spilling.  The flows below Lyons Reservoir are close to 750 CFS, Lyons is spilling as well.

The flows in the Middle Fork below Sand Bar are at 1200 CFS.  Beardsley Reservoir is spilling.  The combined flows from the North and Middle forks at Camp Nine is ~1700 CFS.

Be very careful if you are fishing in these waters due to the high flows.
