Amador Flyfishers (AFF) is a family-oriented organization established in 1991 to provide an opportunity for persons interested in fly fishing to share information, learn from others, experience fly fishing in various locations, and protect fisheries for future generations.
AFF meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Amador County Administration Building located at 810 Court St., Jackson CA, 95642. To socialize with other flyfishers, share local fishing reports, and to support fishery conservation issues. Drop in and check us out - visitors welcome!

AFF 2012 Annual Picnic at Indian Creek Reservoir

If you missed AFF's 2012 Annual Club Picnic, you missed out on some great camaraderie. The Picnic was held at Indian Creek Reservoir (ICR) on Saturday July 21. Picnic attendees were Gary Slade, Dennis Larson, Charlie Moore, Barbara & Larry Price, Tom Giacomini, Ray Mutter, Mark Kautz/Shoreman and Ron Calvert. Lunch included barbequed burgers (aged beef - Duck Race vintage), chips, and assorted beverages. Many stories were shared of past and future-planned fishing trips - a great time was had by all!

ANNUAL AFF CLUB PICNIC AND FISHOUT ON SATURDAY JULY 21

Remember - THERE IS NO JULY AFF MEETING (Tuesday evening at the Amador County Administration building).
Instead, it's time for the ANNUAL AFF CLUB PICNIC AND FISHOUT ON SATURDAY JULY 21!
The picnic will be held at ~12:00 noon on Saturday July 21 at Indian Creek Reservoir (ICR) near Markleeville. Burgers, chips, and sodas will be provided. We're trying to know our approximate attendance ahead of time, so please RSVP Ron Calvert before July 19th at chillsboro at sbcglobal.net [or call (530) 677-6575].
Come out for the day or break out the camping gear and set up a base camp at ICR free of charge. Fishing opportunities include the East Carson River, Indian Creek Reservoir, and/or various other local waters (see attached map). AFF has reserved the group area campsite at ICR from 2pm Friday afternoon (7/20) until 2pm Sunday (7/22). The group area provides camping for up to 40 people (camping in tents only). Carson River Outing and BBQ

Friday, July 18, 2009, the Amador Fly Fishers descended on the Carson River Resort along Highway 4 by Markleeville. Campsites up at the hot springs area were also used. We ventured out onto various waters that afternoon and evening. Gary Slade and I hit the wild trout section, landing several. Bill Heger, Dustin and Cindy Rocksvold attacked Wolf Creek and areas along the East Carson. Charlie Moore likewise hit areas along the Carson River. All landed some nice fish (you will have to speak to all of them individually to get the truth regarding the numbers and size).

This year's BBQ took place at Rancho Seco Lake on Saturday June 7th. In attendance were: Joe Bania, Gary and Lynn Slade, Don and Claire Mittelstaedt, Tom Giacomini, Ray Mutter, Jan Alexander, Larry Shaw and our guest Fly Casting Instructor Floyd Dean.
